You have the advantage

• Can I make money?
When you look for small business opportunities, it is time to be skeptical. Things to consider while you investigate can greatly enhance your probability of success.
Have you seen this business type before? Unknown products require you educating your clients. A new or unknown product might be something a person with high salesmanship skills can be successful with, but it will take developing a strong sales presentation and getting face to face with a client with enough time to present your product.
Can I expect repeat sales from established clients? If you only get one sale from a customer, you will constantly be trying to sell new customers. With a product that has a high potential of repeat customers, you can start with a few clients as a base and continue to build. With this type of product you can at some time in the future slow down the prospecting and still have an established income.
Is there enough profit in a sale to make it worth the effort? Getting customers usually involves an expense from as little as ten dollars to several hundred dollars. The sales process could take a few minutes or several visits that can consume several hours. After you estimate how much the process might cost, look at how much you will make. Shhh don’t tell anyone, but with this business you can generate thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars of income with a minimum amount of actual prospecting and sales effort. More later.
The best thing to do with this question when we come to it is to change to “How can I afford it?”
The real question here is how much value are you getting in the purchase? If your are getting value for the purchase then financing in almost always possible. You can spend a couple hundred dollars for a membership in a multilevel marketing company and end up with a bunch of products you really don’t need. You can by a book that shows you how to make millions in the stock market and gain knowledge. Actually, both of these choices have made money for some people. But if you are looking to invest in equipment that can generate income again and again that is were you can get real value.
Our investment is low enough that anyone in the US can creatively obtain enough capital to start his own business. You might borrow from Grandma or get partners to use their credit cards, but the investment is within the range on any creative thinker.
• Will I be able to do it?
Will you be able to do it physically? The heaviest item in the blimp business is the helium tank. You will need either a pickup or small trailer to transport tanks. A helium tank can weigh over 100 lbs. You might need to do some planning to handle the task if 100 lbs. Is greater than you can handle. Ask additional questions like can I handle or have the product transported and handled? There are a lot of ways to ensure that you won’t carry more than 20 lbs.
Will you be able to handle it mentally? Any business you consider should have a positive mental result without selling your sole to the business. This business is one of the simplest to own. Inventory, employees, and training are some of the hardest areas for a business owner and are not a significant problem in this business.
How many hours a week will have to work? Are there any moral dilemmas created with your business? You will probably find that most of the actual services your company performs will be on weekend mornings and evenings. You can have the weekdays to visit prospects.
• Will it be able to grow in hard times?
In a down economy, do you want to get into the tourist industry when you know that the overall volume of business is shrinking? In down times businesses must find ways to attract new customers and your business is there t o help them. In good times, businesses want to grow and you are there to help them then too.
• Does it have a good future?
This industry has a good potential for the future. Still, this is a serious question that is more important now with so much change in technology than ever before. Don’t expect to find a business that will never have to change in your lifetime. You should look for a business that will provide good return on investment and use some of that return to provide the flexibility to change and adapt with economic conditions.
• What about competition?
Competition is a good thing! You competitors will help you build acceptance in the market. It is difficult to have high demand for a product if no one is aware of the product. Just make sure that the business you select is not in a diminishing market. You probably don’t want to get into the construction business just as interest rates and a poor economy puts a stop to new construction. You can make a great income with less than 100 clients. Since you have more cold air balloons to attract new clients, you have the ability to succeed.
